Lucknow, 28 June: The Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav was seen with state president Mata Prasad Pandey and SP leader Vinay Shankar Tiwari of Gorakhpur at the party office on Saturday. Akhilesh was seen with two big Brahmin leaders of SP amidst the displeasure of Brahmins, which is being discussed vigorously in the political corridors.
SP President Akhilesh Yadav today did a show of strength to maintain his image of closeness with the Brahmin community after the self-proclaimed godman Yadav case.
On this occasion, Akhilesh Yadav was also seen commenting on Gorakhpur.
SP President said that the Chief Minister had said in Jhansi that he will get the metro built for Gorakhpur. Metro will also be built in Jhansi. It has been nine years for the Uttar Pradesh government, till date neither the metro was built in Jhansi, nor was it seen in Gorakhpur.
Akhilesh further said that if the people of Gorakhpur open their mouths, then instead of the heritage corridor, a custody corridor will have to be built there. It would be better if the state government gives compensation for houses in Gorakhpur not as per its own will but as per the market price. Compensation should also be given on time.
