PM Modi thanks Iranian Prez for cooperation in safe return of Indians, also shows concern over Iran-Israel conflict

New Delhi, June 22: The Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on telephone on Sunday. Both leaders discussed the regional situation including the Iran-Israel conflict.

Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the recent tension and described dialogue and diplomacy as the path to solution.

During the talks, President Pezeshkian briefed the Prime Minister in detail on the current situation in the region and the Iran-Israel conflict. The Prime Minister spoke of India’s stand in favor of peace and humanity.

Prime Minister Modi said that there is an immediate need to reduce tensions for the early restoration of regional peace, security and stability. He emphasized on taking forward dialogue and diplomatic efforts in this direction.

The Prime Minister thanked President Pezeshkian for the cooperation being given in the safe return and rehabilitation of Indian citizens. Both leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen mutual cooperation. In this cooperation, importance was given to trade, economic partnership, science and technology and people-to-people relations. Both the leaders agreed to remain in touch in future.

The recent military escalation between Iran and Israel has created a state of unrest in West Asia. Now America has also joined in this by targeting three nuclear bases of Iran.
