Firozabad, 20 June: The Shikohabad police station and the Special Operation Group (SOG) team had an encounter with a criminal from Agra on Friday. The criminal injured by bullets died in the hospital. The deceased criminal was wanted in the case of murder of an old couple and a deadly attack on an old woman for robbery and a reward of 50 thousand was declared on him.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Saurabh Dixit said that on the night of March 4, Munnalal Yadav and his wife Mithlesh were brutally murdered with the intention of looting by entering inside the cattle plot in Vanshi Nagar of Shikohabad police station. Along with this, on the night of June 15, an old woman Surajmukhi wife of late Shivram Yadav was attacked with the intention of robbery in village Malkhanpur.
SSP said a case was registered in both these cases and the search for the accused was started. During the investigation, the name of accused Raju Khan son Kallu Khan alias Dharmendra resident Raipura Ramgarh present address Shahganj Agra came to light in both the cases. A reward of Rs 50 thousand was declared by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Agra Range Agra for the arrest of the accused.
He told that on Friday the police team received information that the wanted accused Raju Khan with a reward of Rs 50 thousand was preparing to commit another crime in a house under construction near Nova Factory located on Puratan Road. When the police team reached near Nova Factory on the information, the accused started firing indiscriminately at the police team. In the retaliatory action taken by the police team in self-defense, the accused got injured by bullet. The injured accused has been identified as Raju son Kallu Khan alias Dharmendra. Illegal pistol 32 bore, 08 live cartridges and 12 empty cartridges and a blood stained paper have been recovered from the possession of accused Raju Khan.
SSP told that the injured accused was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Where the accused died during treatment. Further legal action is being taken by the police team.
