Lucknow, June 18 (H.S.). The accused who looted woman’s bag late Tuesday night in Alambagh police station area was injured in a police encounter. Police has admitted the injured youth to the hospital for treatment.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Central Ashish Srivastava said on Wednesday that Alambagh police station was conducting intensive checking campaign on Tuesday night. During this, information was received that two robbers who are trying to go to Saadatganj via Mawaiya from Langra Phatak via TN Bajpai Chowk. When the police tried to stop the accused near Graham Bell turn culvert, he turned the bike back and started running fast. He slipped and fell from the motorcycle at a distance of 25 steps. Seeing the police behind, the miscreant left the motorcycle and started firing. During this, one of his companions escaped from the spot. Police fired in response in which the robber got injured. He has been identified as Aneesh, a resident of Wazirbagh Shahi Badi Masjid Mallu Ki Gadhiya, Saadatganj. The injured accused was sent to Lokbandhu Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. A pistol, cartridges, a motorcycle and Rs 660, among other things, were recovered from the accused.
The DCP told that 22 cases are registered against the accused in various police stations of Lucknow. He was a Mazaria history-sheeter of Saadatganj police station and was declared a district absconder. The police is taking further action.-
