Ex bureaucrat’s son commits suicide in Lucknow

Lucknow, 08 June: Sudhaakant Mishra, son of retired IAS officer Mangala Prasad Mishra, living in Indiranagar area, committed suicide by hanging himself on Saturday night. He was a project officer of SUDA. The cause of death is said to be depression for the last 15 years.

Ghazipur police station in-charge Vikas Rai said that according to Sudhaakant Mishra’s son Kartikeya, his father was working as a project officer in SUDA and was going to retire after three months. He was in depression and was on medication for the last 15 years. He tried to commit suicide many times due to depression. But due to some member or the other being at home, his plans could not be fulfilled.

The station in-charge said that according to the information received from the family, Sudhakant committed suicide due to depression. He had attempted suicide four times before this. The body has been sent for post-mortem and the case is being investigated.
