Ghaziabad, June 6: The Tronica City police station has arrested three cow smugglers during an encounter on Friday. During the encounter, two cow smugglers were injured by bullets fired by the police.

According to the police, two country made 315 bore pistols with an empty cartridge stuck in the barrel, two live cartridges, one black coloured backpack containing meat cutting equipment like knife, axe, pieces of rope, anesthesia injection, syringe etc. and a stolen motorcycle without number plate used in the incident were recovered from their possession.
DCP Rural SN Tiwari said that Tronica City police station was carrying a checking drive in the Tronica City Chowki Pushta area in view of criminal incidents and keeping in view the upcoming festivals. Three miscreants were riding on a motorcycle without a number plate. The last miscreant had a backpack hanging on his back. On being suspicious, the police tried to stop them but they did not stop and took a sharp cut and started running towards Baghpat road. The Tronica City police station was informed about the miscreants running from RT Set.
DCP apprised that on this information, the police doing checking at gate number two tried to stop the miscreants riding the motorcycle but they did not stop and on seeing themselves surrounded by the police, they fired at the police party with the intention to kill them. In the retaliatory action taken by the police team, two out of the three miscreants, Shahzad alias Intezaar alias Bhushan and Yahiya Khan alias Fateh got shot in their legs.
He told that both were arrested and the third miscreant Zulfiqar was arrested at a short distance from the spot. Injured criminals Shahzad alias Intezaar, resident of village Dhakoli Panchi, police station Chandinagar, district Baghpat, Yahiya Khan alias Fateh, resident of Rupnagar, near Purani Masjid, water tank, police station Loni, have been sent to the hospital for treatment. The third criminal Zulfikar, son of Shaheed Ahmed, resident of Prashant Vihar, police station Loni, Ghaziabad, was arrested from the spot.
DCP informed that during an interrogation, it came to light that a few days ago, they had committed the incident of cow slaughter in the forest of Awas Vikas Mandola area, and had fled after dumping the remains in a sewer pit.
