Kanpur, May 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Kanpur on Friday. The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 15 mega development projects costing more than Rs 47,573 crore here.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present in the program. Through this grand event, the government is also expected to make many important announcements towards connecting the city with world-class facilities along with the expansion of metro in the city.
Prime Minister Modi will come to Kanpur on Friday on May 30 on a one-day visit. The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 15 mega development projects costing more than Rs 47,573 crore including the inauguration of the new route of the metro line here. This visit of the Prime Minister will prove to be a milestone not only for Kanpur but for the entire Uttar Pradesh from economic, social and environmental point of view.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the new underground section of Kanpur Metro Rail Project from Chunniganj to Kanpur Central. 5 new underground stations like Chunniganj, Bada Chauraha, Naveen Market, Nayaganj and Kanpur Central have been prepared on this route. With this expansion, important places of the city like Lal Imli, Z Square Mall, Green Park Stadium, Parade Ground, Book Market and Somdutt Plaza will be directly connected to the metro. Till now, the metro service is running between nine stations from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel. With this expansion, the metro service will be more accessible, safe and fast and the residents will also get relief from traffic jams.
Launch of thermal projects in Ghatampur and Panki
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate three units of 660 MW in Ghatampur and one thermal power project in Panki. These projects will ensure stable and abundant power supply to Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states. Not only this, two new railway bridges will also be inaugurated from Panki Power Plant to Kalyanpur. Through these, uninterrupted supply of coal and fuel will be possible, which will increase the efficiency of the power plant and will also get rid of the problem of jam.
Innovation in the field of water and environment too
Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate a 40 MLD capacity tertiary treatment plant to the nation at Bingawan. This plant will treat sewerage water and make it reusable for industrial and irrigation use, which will promote water conservation and recycling. Along with this, a new fire station and its residential and non-residential buildings will be inaugurated in Bithoor area of โโKanpur, which will enable rapid response in emergency situations.
State level projects will also be inaugurated
Prime Minister Modi will also virtually inaugurate several projects located in other areas of Uttar Pradesh during this period. These include two 132 kV power substations in Greater Noida, thermal power projects in Jawaharpur, Obra C and Khurja. These projects will significantly increase the energy supply system and industrial production in the entire state.
Modi will lay the foundation stone of new projects worth Rs 441 crore
Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of three new projects worth more than Rs 441 crore, which will include schemes related to smart infrastructure, traffic improvement and urban services of Kanpur and surrounding areas. These include widening and strengthening of Gauriya Pali Marg in 4 lanes, widening of the road to connect 4 lanes from AH-1 Nerval turn on Prayagraj Highway to Kanpur Defense Node via Saadh under Defense Corridor and construction of 220 kV substation Sector 28 Yida, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
