Lucknow, May 28: The Madey Ganj police station has arrested an accused during an encounter on Tuesday night. He was absconding in the Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act. The police officer has announced a reward of twenty-five thousand rupees to the team that disclosed the incident.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central, told reporters on Wednesday that on May 27, a daughter of a laborer living in a slum near the new concrete bridge was molested. The police reached the spot and admitted the girl to the hospital for treatment. Doctors have said that her condition is out of danger. Registering a case on the complaint of the family, three teams under the control of ACP Mahanagar started searching for the accused.
The police officer told that the police was checking vehicles near Raghuvanshi Dhal late at night. During this, on seeing the police, a rape accused turned his bike downwards on the Bandha Dhal and started fleeing. When the police team chased the fleeing person to catch him, he opened fire. When the police retaliated, the accused got injured by a bullet. He was arrested and admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The accused has been identified as Kamal Kishore alias Bhaddar, a resident of Kamiyapur, Sitapur. The accused is a neighbor of the laborer. An illegal pistol with live cartridges and a motorcycle have been recovered from him. The police have started further action against the accused.
