CM Yogi cracks the whip against 183 engineers under Jal Jeevan Mission

Lucknow, May 16: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given top priority to the quality and timeliness of the pipeline drinking water schemes construction under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ and has taken strict action against the negligent officers and employees. Under the government’s zero tolerance policy, strict disciplinary action has been taken against 183 officers and employees so far. Out of these, inquiry has been initiated against 122 officers and 55 have been given adverse entry, while six have been suspended.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is quite serious about the quality of the works of ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’. He has made it clear that negligence at any level in the schemes will not be tolerated. Action is being taken against the officers and employees found guilty on the basis of regular monitoring and evaluation of the works under the mission.

The state government spokesperson said that the most action has been taken against the executive engineers under the Jal Jeevan Mission. So far, disciplinary inquiry has been initiated against a total of seven chief engineers, while four have been given adverse entries. Apart from this, investigation has been conducted against five superintending engineers and seven have been given adverse entries. Investigation has been conducted against 59 executive engineers, while 44 have been given adverse entries and four have been suspended.

He added that along with this, investigation has been conducted against 32 assistant engineers and two have been suspended. At the same time, disciplinary investigation has been conducted against 19 junior engineers. In this way, disciplinary inquiry has been conducted against a total of 122 officers who have been negligent, 55 have been given adverse entries and six have been suspended.

He said that the achievements of Uttar Pradesh under the Jal Jeevan Mission under the able leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are remarkable. Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to provide the maximum number of tap connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

CM Yogi Adityanath has made it clear that those who are negligent in development schemes will not be spared at any cost. The goal of the Yogi government is to provide pure drinking water to every household in the state on time and with quality. In this direction, the state government is working with full transparency and commitment.
