Shopian, May 13: Security forces killed three terrorists in an encounter in Shukru Keller area of โโShopian district in South Kashmir. The army said in a post on X that a search operation was launched in the Keller area based on specific information. During this, an encounter took place with the terrorists.
According to the army, the terrorists opened heavy fire during the operation, after which the encounter started. Three terrorists have been killed during the encounter, while the operation is underway. Actually, on May 13, the Special Intelligence Unit of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Unit came to know about the presence of militants in Shukru Keller of Shopian. The identity of the killed terrorists has not been ascertained yet. Efforts are being made by the army to identify them.
It is worth mentioning that on April 22, terrorists attacked Pahalgam and killed 26 people. Since then, a special search operation is being carried out in Jammu and Kashmir. Under this operation, an encounter took place with the terrorists on Tuesday. It has not been confirmed yet whether the terrorists killed were involved in the Pahalgam attack or not. The army is gathering information about this.
