Lucknow, May 10: Education should not be limited to good marks only, but it should be linked to moral values, and the spirit of nation first. We often limit education to marks, but the purpose of education is life building. A life that is useful for the country, an inspiration for the society. When we link education to values and national values, only then the foundation of a developed India can be laid. A developed India will be one where every citizen is safe, prosperous and self-reliant. In the resolution of ‘Developed India’ given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the countrymen, the role of education and teachers is most important. Teachers are working to build such a generation, which in the coming times will not only be academically excellent, but will also be strong from a moral point of view., said CM Yogi in the Teachers Thank You Ceremony at the CMS on Saturday.

Earlier, CM Yogi honored the toppers of 10th-12th of ICSE Board, JEE Main topper students. CM also honored the teachers.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 70 years ago, Dr Jagdish Gandhi and Dr Bharti Gandhi laid the foundation of this institute with a great purpose despite limited resources. When they were students at Lucknow University, they had neither any resources nor any special arrangements, but they did not lose courage and dreamed of providing quality education in the capital Lucknow. Today, as a result of that dream, thousands of students are studying in CMS. He said that not every student can get a place in the merit list, but different fields of education can make their mark in sports, arts and service. Chief Minister Yogi also discussed the Vedic traditions of the country.

He said that our Vedic proclamation has been  माता भूमिः पुत्रो अहं पृथिव्याः :. This is the same sentiment, which Dr Gandhi presented in the form of ‘Jai Jagat’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is repeating the same sentiment in the principle of ‘Nation First’. We should also work with this principle in every sphere of life.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while referring to the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that Nation First should be the first mantra for all of us. This work is not only of the country’s leadership, army personnel and administrative officers, but should also be for teachers.

Expressing concern over the misuse of social media, he said that when there is a lack of respect for the nation among the youth, then anti-national thoughts flourish, so it becomes the responsibility of the teachers to not only impart knowledge, but also instill patriotism and morality in the students.

Praising the teachers, the CM said that this institute plays a leading role in every national event (be it Independence Day or Republic Day). When the children of CMS participate in tableaux in front of the Vidhan Bhavan, the enthusiasm of Dr. Bharti Gandhi is seen behind them. The dedication and energy with which she is working even at this age is exemplary.

While praising the students’ presentation of the play ‘Adi Yogi’, the Chief Minister said that such cultural presentations connect children with history, tradition and values. Linking this presentation to the cultural form of India moving towards Maha Kumbh, he said that our mythological stories are not just entertainment, but a medium to teach the values of life. Such efforts are very necessary to connect today’s generation with its past.

CMS founder Dr Bharti Gandhi, CMS manager Prof Geeta Gandhi, CMS President Dr Roger Kingdom, treasurer Vinay Gandhi, former DGP Vikram Singh, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal etc. were present in the program.
