New Delhi, 10 April: Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmad Bukhari has appealed to the Imams across the country to make arrangements for offering Namaz inside the mosques. He also suggested that where there are completely Muslim settlements and the number of worshipers is high, then Namaz can be offered outside the mosque.
Bukhari said that if there are no objections or obstacles in that open place, then there should be no hesitation in offering Namaz outside. In such a situation, the local administration should cooperate in offering Namaz. Otherwise, more than one congregation should be organized and namaz should be offered in the mosque premises itself. In places with mixed population, arrangements should be made to offer Namaz inside the mosque. It is better to do more than one Jamaat because of more number of worshipers. Remember that every new group should have a different Imam.
Shahi Imam said that Eid prayers should be offered in an atmosphere of goodwill. We all should make efforts together to maintain the spiritual dignity of Eid. In the end, he has extended his heartfelt greetings on Eid to all the countrymen.
