Firozabad, June 28: A sleeper bus full of passengers going from Delhi to Orai Jalaun on Lucknow Expressway collided with a truck ahead on Saturday. Three passengers of the bus died in the accident, while two passengers are seriously injured, police said.
Police sent the bodies for post-mortem and admitted the injured to Saifai Medical College.
According to the police, the accident took place in Thana Nangla Khangar area on Agra-Lucknow Expressway. A sleeper bus was going from New Delhi to Orai Jalaun with about 50 passengers. As soon as the bus reached near kilometer number 68, the driver of the truck ahead suddenly applied brakes due to which the bus going behind collided with the truck ahead.
After getting the information, the police and UPEIDA team reached the spot. The seriously injured passengers in the bus have been sent to Saifai Medical College with the help of an ambulance. Three of these passengers were declared dead by the doctors. The other passengers were taken to their destination through another bus. The police sent the bodies for post-mortem. Also, the traffic has been restored by removing the accident vehicles from the expressway. The police have identified one of the deceased as Bijendra alias Pappu, resident of Orai Jalaun. Efforts are on to identify the other two deceased.
SP Rural Triguna Bisen said that a sleeper bus collided with a truck going ahead after it applied brakes. Three people have died in the accident. Two people have been injured, they have been sent to Saifai Medical College.
