Lucknow, December 21: A young man, 26, was brutally beaten to death late Saturday night in the Para police station area of โโLucknow. Police arrived at the scene after receiving information, sent the body for postmortem and began investigating the case. One accused has been detained, apprised police.
Para police station in-charge Suresh Singh said on Sunday that at 2:15 a.m. Saturday night, a police team received information via PRV that a man had been murdered in Parukheda village. Upon tipped, the police team immediately rushed to the scene and found the body of Shiv Prakash (26), a resident of Parukheda, lying in a pool of blood on the road outside his house. Initial investigation revealed marks of multiple blows to the head from a heavy object, such as an iron rod.
During interrogation, family members revealed that Shiv Prakash worked at a kiln and had a long-standing dispute with Satish, a resident of the same village. It is alleged that due to this enmity, Satish reached home at night and started abusing and kicking the gate. As soon as the gate opened, the accused dragged Shiv Prakash to the road and started beating him. He was killed by repeated attacks with an iron rod. Shiv Prakash’s wife got injured while trying to intervene. When a crowd gathered, the accused fled from there.
The police station in-charge said that on the basis of the complaint of the deceased’s father Shivdin, a case has been registered in the police station under relevant sections and the accused Satish has been taken into custody and investigation has been started.
