Lucknow, May 27: Two women including a female constable committed suicide by hanging themselves in different police station areas in Lucknow, the capital of UP, on Tuesday. The police, who arrived on the information, sent the bodies for post-mortem and started investigating the case.
Ritu (27), originally from Amroha, was living in a rented house in Meena Market in Indiranagar, Ghazipur police station area.
Sub-inspector Geeta also lived in the same house. She told that on Tuesday when she reached Ritu’s room, she called out several times when the door was closed. The door did not open from inside. The phone kept ringing but no one was answering. Fearing something untoward, she informed the police. When the police reached the spot and opened the door, they saw that Ritu’s body was hanging from the noose. The police informed the senior officials and Ritu’s family about the incident. Ritu was a female constable of the year 2019 batch. Currently she was posted in Madiyaon police station.
Similarly, Anita alias Kajal (30) living in Hasan Garden Govind Bihar Colony in Chinhat police station area has committed suicide by hanging herself.
Husband Ravi told that he is originally from Bahraich. He lives in a rented house here and supports the family by working as a labourer. He also does not know the reason why his wife committed suicide. Police have sent the body for postmortem and have started probing the case.
