Lucknow, May 15: So far 16 people have died, while many people are injured in road accidents on Thursday morning in Uttar Pradesh.
Six people died in the accident in Hardoi, while five people returning from a wedding ceremony in Balrampur lost their lives in a car. Earlier, five passengers died after being burnt alive in a bus due to a fire on Kisan Path in Lucknow.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his condolences on the deaths of people in road accidents. Along with this, instructions have been given to the officials to provide better treatment to the injured.
According to the police, a truck hit an auto near Hardalmau village on Sandila-Bangarmau road in Kasimpur police station area of ​​Hardoi district on Thursday morning as a result of the auto overturned that led to killing of six people. Three people were injured, who have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
Superintendent of Police said that six people have died in the accident that took place at 9:30 this morning. These include four men and two women. Among the dead, auto driver Ranjit Malhan Kheda resident Arvind has been identified. The rest are being identified. Three people are injured, out of which a child is in critical condition. The truck driver is absconding, the police is searching for him.
The second accident took place near Chakwa Chowki under Balrampur Kotwali Rural area around 2 o’clock late Wednesday night. The truck crushed the car coming from the front. In the accident, five people in the car died on the spot, while eight people are seriously injured. The dead include Phoolbabu (35), Shiv Kumar (22), Aditya (07), resident of Belwar Mohalla of Dhanepur area of ​​​​Gonda, Vijay Kumar (35) resident of Itiyathok Madhya Nagar and Jitendra (40) resident of Hadiya of Prayagraj.
The injured include Raghav Ram, Sitaram, Mehak, Vikas Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Gopal of Dhanepur area and the driver Ajay Kumar of Hadia in Prayagraj.
According to the police, all the people had gone from Gonda to attend a wedding procession in Ikauna police station area of ​​Shravasti district. They were returning from there when this accident happened. The police have taken the truck into custody, while the driver has fled.
The third accident happened on Thursday morning around 5 am on Kisan Path in Lucknow near Mohanlalganj. A private sleeper bus (UP-17 ATA 6372) going from Begusarai in Bihar to New Delhi caught fire on Kisan Path in Lucknow on Thursday morning. Five people died in this fire. As soon as the bus caught fire, the driver and conductor got down from the bus and ran away. All the bodies have been identified.
The deceased include Ashok Mehta’s wife Lakkhi Devi (55), his daughters Soni (26), Madhusudan (21) and two children Ramlal’s sons Devraj (03) and Sakshi (02). One person has suffered minor injuries. The police have registered a case in this matter and are investigating.
